Four bell towers

One of the most famous sights that you must visit in the Old Town of Rab are the four bell towers, which protrude above the roofs of the town and form an irreplaceable part of its silhouette. Each of the bell towers belongs to one of the four churches located within the city walls. Church of St. Mary, church of St. John the Evangelist, church of St. Justin and the church of St. Andrije form a unique ensemble of sacred buildings that bear witness to the deep-rooted religious tradition of this city. Visitors can admire the architectural details, frescoes and other works of art that adorn these churches, while exploring their unique rooms.

Middle street

Saint Christopher

For centuries, the relics of St. Christopher is kept in the Rab Cathedral. May 9, 1075 is celebrated as the day of the victory of the city of Rab. Then St. Christopher saved the city by diverting the arrows of the Normans from the city walls.  

That is why the main city square is named after Saint Christopher.This square, surrounded by cafes and restaurants, is an ideal place to relax and observe life on the island. There is also the tower of St. Kristofora, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the surroundings.

Nearby is the Rab Arboretum, a beautiful garden located between the city walls and the sea. The arboretum is home to numerous autochthonous plant species, and a walk through it provides a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The fair, which is held every year in July, presents a faithful reconstruction of life on Rab in the 17th century, emphasizing the spirit of the past. Visitors are transported through time, walking along paved streets that bring the past of Rab to life. Local residents dress in traditional costumes, presenting the variety of clothing and crafts that marked this period.

The main square becomes the central place where numerous events, plays and concerts are held. Visitors can participate in traditional Rab games, taste authentic local dishes and enjoy folklore dances that bring joy and energy to this festival. Great performances by local artists and musicians further enrich the atmosphere of the fair, creating a unique harmony of tradition and modernity.
